UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND..MAIN CAMPUS

The University of Maryland School of Medicine part of the University of Maryland in Baltimore. Located on the west side of downtown Baltimore the university consists of six other professional schools, including the Graduate School, and the schools of Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Social Work and Law.
Physicians, scientists, medical students and graduate students work side by side in state of-the-art-facilities, including, Health Sciences Facility I, Health Sciences Facility II, and the UMB BioPark. Research is conducted and classes are held in several buildings, including the Bressler Research Building, Howard Hall and the Medical School Teaching Facility (MSTF).
The School of Medicine connected to the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and the Baltimore Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC), where faculty members treat patients. In addition, there are clinical practices for just about every specialty located on or near campus. UMMC and VAMC also offer many clinical opportunities for students.

SMC Campus Center

The Southern Management Corporation Campus Center provides a place for students, faculty, staff, and alumni to nurture their collective mind, body, and spirit. The facility has an Olympic-sized pool, full-service athletic facility, ballroom with catering services and a variety of dining options.

HS/HSL Library

Students have full access to the medical collections at the Health Sciences and Human Services Library, which traces its history back to the early 1800s when the school was founded, but is wired to provide 21st century students with the tools they need to learn more effectively.

Housing

Limited on-campus housing for students is available in the Pascault Row Apartments or Fayette Square. In addition, there are homes available for rent or purchase in neighborhoods within walking distance of campus, including Poppleton, Washington Village and Ridgely's Delight. Canton, Fells Point and Federal Hill, located a short drive from campus, are also popular with students because of the wide variety of entertainment options they offer.
